Diamond Dreams is pleased to welcome pitching instructor Randy Ecrement. Randy is a Canton native who has impacted the game of baseball through playing and coaching for many years.
Randy graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas in 1989 as a multi-year All- Conference and District player, and was inducted into the St. Thomas Athletic Hall of Fame. He went on to become a four-year letter winner at the University of Akron where he set the all-time single season wins record and was two-time Pitcher of the Year. He captured All-MAC honors his senior season.
After graduation Randy played two years in the Frontier League for the Zanesville Greys and later became a 12-time All Star in the Canton Class A league. He was inducted into the Stark County Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012.
Since his playing days ended, Randy has focused on coaching and developing young players. He served as the pitching coach for Jackson High School for five years (State Title 2014), Lake High School for three years and St. Thomas Aquinas for three years. He has also given individual lessons for the past ten years and has worked the Cleveland Indians Camps multiple times.
Randy resides in Canton. He has a 10 year-old son and a 15 year-old daughter.
