Jeff was a 1986 NCAA All-American at Kent St. where he led the MAC in hitting with a .397 average. Jeff was drafted in the 2nd round by the Montreal Expos, spent 16 years in professional baseball and 7 years in the Majors pitching for the Astros, Padres, Reds, Pirates and Cardinals. Since his playing days ended, Jeff has taught and coached the game extensively. He is motivated by his deep love of the game and his desire to pass on the detailed knowledge of the game that only former MLB players possess. Jeff does private instruction full time at Diamond Dreams and also runs his annual Pro Baseball School in the wintertime.
Hitting and Catching Instruction
Tyler Weisel was a three-year letterman and caught for the 2008 Canton Central Catholic State Champions. He went on to catch at Shawnee St. University. Tyler is known as a talented young instructor and coach and serves as the Director of Baseball Instruction at Diamond Dreams. He is also the Varsity Head Coach at New Philadelphia High School and formerly served six seasons as Central Catholic High School's JV Head Coach. Tyler has extensive experience coaching travel baseball as well; his love and enthusiasm for the game of baseball is contagious.
Roy Jacobs was a three-year captain of the baseball team at Malone University and served as an asisstant coach for three years after his playing career ended. Roy has also served as the bullpen coach for the Frontier League Washington Wild Things, has been a camp instructor for Cal Ripken, Jr. Baseball, has served as an Assistant Director of USA Baseball (Ohio Valley Region) and currently serves as the Senior Manager of Amateur Baseball Development for the Akron Rubber Ducks of the AA Eastern League. Roy is a highly regarded instructor who has been conducting youth camps, and offering individual and team lessons for hitting and fielding for many years.
Tim Saunders was the 2008 NBC Player of the Year and is now a Hall of Fame Inductee at Alliance High School. He went on to win four letters at Marietta College and won back-to-back National Championships in 2011-2012. Tim was a two-time First Team All-American and the 2012 Division III National Player of the Year. He was drafted as a shortstop by the Chicago Cubs and was Short Season Player of the Year in 2012. Tim spent four years in the Cubs system, finishing his playing career with the High A Daytona Cubs. Tim teaches fielding and hitting at Diamond Dreams.
Baseball Pitching Instruction
Chris Willoughby was left-handed, three-year letter winner at Massillon Washington High School. He was 1st team All-County and 1st Team All-NE Ohio Inland in 2008. Chris went on to pitch for Notre Dame College in Cleveland for four years. Chris is the former pitching coach at GlenOak High School and served as the 18u Stark County Terriers Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator from 2012-2018. Chris instructs pitching at Diamond Dreams.
Baseball Pitching Instruction
Glen Richardson graduated from Jackson High School in 2016 where he posted a 0.00 regular season ERA. Glen went on to pitch at Earlham College before transferring to Sinclair Junior College in Dayton. Glen underwent Tommy John Surgery in 2018 and following a successful rehabilitation, was signed by the Texas Rangers in June of that year. Glen was assigned to the AZL Rangers and later to the Spokane Indians. Glen is in his third year in the Rangers system. Glen works out at Diamond Dreams where he is well known for his 98 MPH fastball. Glen teaches pitching at Diamond Dreams.
Dan had a standout career at McKinley Senior High School and followed it with four years as a pitcher at Malone University. Dan coached at his alma mater McKinley for 10 years as Varsity Pitching Coach. Dan played Class A ball locally, where he was an All-Star every year. Dan was inducted into the Stark Co Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame this year. Dan teaches pitching at Diamond Dreams.
